Overview
C-CIARN BC was the first "node" established when C-CIARN was launched in 2001. Originally housed at UBC's Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability, C-CIARN BC was relocated to the Department of Sociology in 2004 with a view to attracting and engaging more social science interest in climate impacts and adaptation research.
C-CIARN BC focussed on the impacts and vulnerabilities of communities to climate change and sought to increase understanding of adaptation as a social process. Although it will no longer be updated, the C-CIARN BC website will remain accessible to the public until further notice.
The former staff of C-CIARN BC remain actively engaged in research with communities on the social dimensions of climate change. For updates on their latest activity visit:
