C-CIARN Landscape Hazards Overview C-CIARN Landscape Hazards provided background information and links between hazard researchers and stakeholders to facilitate communication on climate change impacts and adaptation issues and concerns. Climate related geohazards such as floods, landslides, soil erosion, drought and permafrost changes all have implications for the environment, economy and social structures of communities. Through workshops facilitated by C-CIARN Landscape Hazards, consequences of climate change were discussed with respect to these events and adaptation strategies were shared. Also through the work of this C-CIARN office, monitoring needs, data sharing complexities and limited resources were identified as critical gaps in hazard research, while planning tools, land use development strategies, and increased communication were identified as key measures for adaptation to climate change related hazard risks.
