Overview

C-CIARN Prairies, which was hosted by PARC (the Prairie Adaptation Research Collaborative) and the University of Regina, represented Canada's three Prairie provinces- Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. C-CIARN Prairies brought together researchers, stakeholders and decision makers in the field of climate change impacts and adaptation through workshops, conferences, publications and media events with the aim of generating, understanding and disseminating options to deal with impacts (eg. stress on agriculture, reduced river and stream flows, increased fires and pathogen stress on forests) of current and projected climate change across the Prairies. C-CIARN Prairies also worked to identify the key research and adaptation challenges of the Prairie provinces.

PARC continues to operate. PARC's website (www.parc.ca) provides information on current activities and completed and ongoing research projects, as well as details on its support for the training of new professionals in the science of adaptation to climate change.
